Sweet fruit from the coastal polder

Thanks to the sun and a light sea breeze, our cherries ripen into sweet, juicy fruit. The ones that are just a little less pretty become jam, juice or a fresh, sweet cherry beer.

How we make our jam

Our jam is made locally, entirely by hand. The less pretty cherries from our trees are turned into jam the artisan way.

  1. Washing and cutting

The fruit is first carefully washed and cut.

  2. Cooking in open copper pans

After weighing, the fruit goes into open copper pans with pectin, lemon juice and little sugar.

  3. A label and a paper cap

Once the jam is ready, we pour it into jars, and every jar gets a label and a paper cap.

Because it contains less sugar, the jam keeps for a year. Once opened, keep it in the fridge.

What is ripe right now?

From late June to mid November, fresh fruit from our orchard is in the shop. The last autumn apples close the season in mid November.
